  7.         Currents! allows access to all callers, but offers expanded
  8. access to those callers who care enough to make a donation to Currents!
  9. Those callers generous enough to contribute to Currents! will become
  10. full-fledged members of the 'Currents! Contributors Club' and are
  11. entitled to all priviledges mentioned below for one full year.

  21. .       Currents is the first Macintosh-based BBS in the Dayton area
  22.         to belong to the 8000 member FidoNet.

  24. .       The message forums on Currents! broaden the scope of
  25.         resources available to you!  Due to the fact that most message
  26.         areas are national or international, the wide range of topics
  27.         and responses quickly enable you to solve problems or expand
  28.         your potential.

  30. .       Currents! also is a member of the K12Net International
  31.         Education Network.  This network brings together students,
  32.         parents, and teachers from all over the world to discuss
  33.         educational issues and share ideas for helping students
  34.         achieve their potential.

  36. .       The File Library on Currents! surpasses any BBS library in the
  37.         Miami Valley! Currents! offers a full line of public domain
  38.         and shareware files for the Apple Macintosh.  Contact on the
  39.         national on-line services several times a week for utilities,
  40.         applications, INITs, graphics, etc.  which are new and
  41.         promising, as well as updating existing library files helps to
  42.         insure "Current" listings. In addition, Currents! has
  43.         established file libraries for education-related files for the
  44.         Macintosh and Apple II computers.

  46. .       Membership in the 'Currents! Contributors Club'.

  48.         This entitles you to participate in on-line contests in which
  49.         prizes are awarded for everything from being the 5000th caller
  50.         to uploading the most number of files per month to having the
  51.         funniest anecdaote per month.

  57.         Consider this:

  59.         It takes about 12 minutes to download a 100K file at 2400
  60. baud.  So you can download 5 100K files in an hour.  An hour of
  61. on-line access charges to America Online (probably the cheapest of the
  62. nationals) costs $5.00.

  64.         Keep the above equation in the back of your mind as you are
  65. reading this.  It will come in handy when figuring what level you will
  66. choose.

  69.                    2 Levels of Accessibility to Currents

  72.          The following is a list of the 2 levels of accessibility from
  73. which to choose. The list includes the time allowed on Currents,
  74. number of calls allowed per day, and Post/call and Upload/download
  75. ratios each level must maintain in order to enter the File Library.

  83. *  Level 1 is the 'new caller' level, but has access to all message
  84.    areas and file transfer libraries.  Level 2 has access to all
  85.    message areas & file libraries and NO ratios.

  91.         Level 1 will be allowed a maximum of 30 minutes per day on 
  92. Currents.  Those with this level can call a maximum of 2 times per day.
  93. In order to have access to the File Library, Level 1 must post 1 message
  94. for each 5 times they call (1:5) and upload 1 file for each 5 they
  95. download (1:5).

  97.         Level 2 will be allowed a maximum of 120 minutes per day and up
  98. to 5 calls per day.  It has no Post/calls or Upload/downloads ratio
  99. restriction.

  104.         To acquire unrestricted access to Currents, a donation is
  105. required.  This donation will entitle you to 1 full year access.
